Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE)

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized a workshop titled “Outcome-Based Education (OBE)” on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Distance Learning Theatre, Level 8, Block C, AUST. The workshop was attended by all newly appointed faculty members.

The program started with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director of IQAC, AUST. He welcomed the new faculty members and gave a presentation on the basic concepts of Outcome-Based Education (OBE). He explained the importance of Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) and how they help students develop the knowledge and skills needed to solve real-life problems and succeed in their professional careers.

He also discussed the implementation of the BAETE Manual Version 3.0 for the engineering programs at AUST. He said that this updated manual is an important step toward improving the quality of engineering education. It focuses on Outcome-Based Education, continuous improvement, stakeholder involvement, and meeting international accreditation standards.

Dr. Naznin Sultana Chaity, Additional Director of IQAC, also gave a presentation on the importance of Outcome-Based Education and its role in improving teaching and learning. After that, Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain, Additional Director of IQAC, shared his views on OBE and explained how it can be effectively applied in academic programs.

During the workshop, the participants took part in activities to practice the concepts of Outcome-Based Education. After completing the activities, the facilitators reviewed their work and provided feedback to help them better understand the topics.

The workshop ended with an interactive question-and-answer session, where participants asked questions and discussed different aspects of OBE. Finally, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed delivered the vote of thanks, expressing his appreciation to the speakers and participants for their active participation. The workshop concluded successfully and helped the newly appointed faculty members gain a better understanding of Outcome-Based Education and its practical application at AUST.
