Seminar on “Academic Transformation Fund (ATF) Sub Project Proposal Writing”
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology successfully organized a comprehensive seminar titled “Academic Transformation Fund (ATF) Sub Project Proposal Writing” on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The seminar was held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the VC Seminar Room, Level-4, Block-D, AUST, with the objective of strengthening faculty capacity in developing competitive and effective ATF sub-project proposals. The seminar was attended by all Professors of the university along with Sub-Project Managers (SPMs) who had previously applied for the HEAT Project funds. The presence of senior faculty members and experienced project applicants ensured a highly interactive and knowledge-sharing environment. The session aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of the Academic Transformation Fund framework, proposal structure, evaluation criteria, and submission process.

The program formally commenced with an opening address and welcome speech delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, AUST. In his address, he warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the significance of the Academic Transformation Fund (ATF) in driving academic excellence, innovation, and institutional capacity building in higher education. He highlighted the strategic importance of well-prepared sub-project proposals in securing ATF funding and achieving sustainable academic transformation. He also provided a detailed overview of proposal writing techniques, key components of a strong proposal, common challenges faced by applicants, and practical guidance on successful submission procedures.

Subsequently, Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury, Pro Vice-Chancellor (In-charge) and Treasurer, AUST, delivered on proposal conceptualization, alignment with institutional goals, budgeting, implementation planning, and expected outcomes. The interactive nature of the session allowed participants to share their previous experiences, clarify queries, and gain valuable insights into improving proposal quality and competitiveness.

The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, emphasized the critical importance of careful preparation and timely submission of future Academic Transformation Fund (ATF) sub-project proposals, highlighting their role in enhancing academic quality, innovation, and sustainable institutional development.
The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain, Additional Director, IQAC, and Associate Professor, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AUST. In his concluding speech, he thanked the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and highlighted the importance of continuous capacity-building initiatives for faculty members. He expressed confidence that the knowledge gained from the workshop would significantly contribute to the successful preparation and submission of future ATF sub-project proposals.

The seminar ended on a successful note with active participation, meaningful interactions, and a renewed commitment among faculty members to contribute effectively to academic transformation initiatives at AUST.
