Seminar on “World Intellectual Property (IP) Day”

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized a seminar on “World Intellectual Property (IP) Day” for the Deans of the faculties, Heads of the Departments/School, Directors, Treasurer, Registrar, Librarian, Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC), Departmental OBE coordinator and senior faculty members. The program was held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 02:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the VC seminar room, Level:4, Block-D, AUST.

The Chief Patron of the program was Professor. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, AUST. The patron was Professor. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, Pro Vice- Chancellor, AUST. The special guest was Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury, Treasurer, AUST. The Keynote Speaker was Dr. Sultan Mahmud Bhuiyan, Director, Private University Management Division, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh.

The Expert Speaker was Amin Mohammad Tajul Islam, Deputy Director (Patent), Department of Patent, Design and Trademarks, Ministry of Industries. The Speaker from UGC was Engr. Mohammad Monir Ullah, Deputy Director, SPQA, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh.

The program was started with a warm welcome speech given by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, AUST. Then the Chief Patron Professor. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque joined the stage and focused on World Intellectual Property (IP) Day. After that the patron Professor. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman shared his experiences about it.

In addition, the special guest Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury also talked about it.  After this speech the keynote speaker Dr. Sultan Mahmud Bhuiyan provided a presentation on World Intellectual Property (IP) Day.

In particular, the Expert Speaker  Amin Mohammad Tajul Islam elaborated the topic for success in an increasingly dynamic and globalized world. At the end, the last Speaker from UGC was Engr. Mohammad Monir Ullah gave his valuable opinion on different aspects in different subject areas. This program ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Naznin Sultana Chaity, Additional Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
