Workshop on “Teaching – Learning and Assessment”

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) convened a workshop on “Teaching – Learning and Assessment” on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 02:30 p.m. to 04:30 p.m. at the Distance Learning Theater (DLT), Level-8, Block-C, AUST. The session specifically targeted the newly recruited faculty members of Spring 2024 and Fall 2024 semesters with the strategic intent of orienting them to contemporary pedagogical frameworks and outcome-driven teaching practices.

The program was graced by the Honorable Vice Chancellor (In-charge) of AUST, Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury, as the Chief Guest. Two presentations were delivered by Dr. Naznin Sultana Chaity, Director (In-charge), IQAC and Associate Professor, School of Business, and Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain, Additional Director, IQAC and Associate Professor, Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

The program started with a warm welcome speech by Dr. Naznin Sultana Chaity who delivered program educational objectives (PEOs) and Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) on how the course is structured with clear learning outcomes, ensuring that students acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their academic and professional careers. She also given idea how can a classroom can be more interactive by using several digital teaching learning tools.

Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain has given importance of different assessment techniques about the Teaching – Learning at every level from designing a curriculum to implementation at course level and how to design an OBE-based course curriculum with hands-on activities and practical-oriented tasks to create a course and BAETE accreditation standards. The program was wrapped up and ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain.
