Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE)
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized a workshop titled “Outcome-Based Education (OBE)” on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the VC Seminar Room, Level 4, Block D, AUST. The workshop was attended by all newly appointed faculty members at the rank of Lecturer (Grade-II).

The program commenced with an opening address by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, AUST. In his welcome speech, he greeted the newly recruited faculty members and provided a comprehensive presentation on the principles of Outcome-Based Education, emphasizing course learning outcomes and their applicability across all academic disciplines. He highlighted that clearly defined learning outcomes enable graduates to effectively address complex real-world challenges and remain adaptable in a rapidly evolving professional environment.

Prof. Dr. Morshed also discussed the implementation of OBE systems, program accreditation requirements of BAETE, BAC, and IAB. Furthermore, he identified major implementation challenges, and suggested practical strategies to overcome them. He also outlined the key objectives of the workshop.

In his address, he highlighted the implementation of the BAETE Manual Version 3.0 for the engineering programs at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) as a timely and transformative initiative. He explained that the introduction of this updated manual marks a significant milestone in the continuous journey toward academic excellence and institutional quality assurance within the field of engineering education in Bangladesh. He elaborated that BAETE Manual Version 3.0 places a stronger emphasis on outcome-based education, continuous improvement, stakeholder engagement, and alignment with international accreditation standards.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, followed by a formal vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC. The session ended successfully with active participation and engagement from the newly appointed faculty members.
