Workshop on Outcome-Based Education (OBE)
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized a workshop on “Outcome-Based Education (OBE)” on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 02:30 p.m. to 04:30 p.m. in the VC Seminar Room, Level 4, Block D, AUST. The session was attended by all newly appointed faculty members at the ranks of Lecturer (G-II) and Assistant Professor.
The event commenced with an opening address by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, who welcomed the newly recruited faculties of AUST, discuss the IQAC initiatives and activities, OBE systems, programs accreditation from BAETE, BAC and IAB, and QS ranking, integration of OBE system with IUMS, major challenges and ways to overcome these, and also outlined the objectives of the workshop. Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, underscored the increasing global shift of engineering institutions toward OBE to strengthen the teaching–learning process and assessment mechanisms in engineering education.
Subsequently, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman, provided an in-depth overview of OBE principles and course learning outcomes, stressing its applicability across all academic disciplines. He emphasized that well-defined learning outcomes empower graduates to address complex, real-world challenges and remain adaptable to the rapidly changing professional landscape.
The program concluded with Q&A session and a formal vote of thanks from Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, marking the successful completion of the workshop.
