Workshop on ”Mastering Purchase and Procurement Processes”

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized a workshop on “Mastering Purchase and Procurement Processes” for all Officers and staffs from Treasurer office, Procurement office, University Engineering (UE) office, P&D office, Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO) from all departments, Assistant Registrars and Registrar. The program was held on Monday, September 09, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in VC seminar room, Level:4, Block-D, AUST.

The chief guest was Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque of AUST. The special guest was Honorable Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr.  Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman of  AUST. The Key note speaker was Mr. Tapan Kumar Fouzder, Team Leader, Network of Technical Assistance Providers, Bangladesh. All the Deans of the faculties and heads of the Departments/School, Dr. Naznin Sultana Chaity and Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain, Additional Directors, IQAC, were present at the program.

The program started with a warm welcome speech given by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, AUST. Next, Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, Honorable Vice-Chancellor talked about the importance of procurement and purchase and how to speed up the whole system for smooth functioning of the organization.

Our keynote speaker, Mr. Tapan Kumar Fouzder made details discussion focusing on mastering purchase and procurement processes. As organizations face increasing pressure to optimize their procurement strategies and reduce operational costs, the Procurement and Purchasing System offers an all-in-one platform that simplifies every stage of the purchasing lifecycle. From sourcing and supplier management to order fulfillment and analytics, the system is equipped with advanced tools to streamline workflows, foster collaboration, and deliver insights for smarter decision-making. Mr. Tapan also made a detailed discussion on the Public Procurement Policy of the Bangladesh Government.

Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr.  Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman has given his concluding speech. Prof. Dr.  Mohammed Mahbubur Rahman stressed the loopholes in the procurement systems of AUST and gave valuable advice on how to overcome those.  This program ended with a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, AUST.
