Workshop on “BAC Accreditation: Documentation and Evidence”
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) conducted a workshop on “BAC Accreditation: Documentation and Evidence” on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the VC Seminar Room, Level-4, Block-D, AUST. The workshop specifically targeted Deans, Heads of Departments/Schools, and Program Self-Assessment Committee (PSAC) members, as these academic leaders hold direct responsibility for preparing, preserving, and presenting credible documentation required for the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) process.
Professor Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary, Former Professor of Khulna University and Ex-Member of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director of IQAC. Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, delivered an insightful presentation, providing practical guidelines on accreditation requirements.
In his discussion, Professor Dr. Sanjoy Kumar Adhikary emphasized strategic planning for POE and the BAC accreditation process. He elaborated on BAETE (Version 3) and BAC documentation requirements, the preparation of Self-Assessment Reports (SAR), and effective approaches to developing and evaluating SAR questionnaires.
One of the notable strengths of the program was its initiative to align AUST’s quality assurance practices with the requirements of national accreditation standards, thereby creating a structured pathway toward institutional improvement and recognition. However, the development of skills related to preparing comprehensive Self-Assessment Reports (SARs) and compiling robust, evidence-based documentation was limited. Since these elements are fundamental to demonstrating accreditation readiness, the absence of sufficient experiential learning opportunities hindered the participants’ ability to translate theoretical understanding into practice confidently.
The workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A session, followed by a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Naznin Sultana Chaity, Additional Director of IQAC, which marked the successful completion of the program.
