Seminar on “Professional Ethics and Compliance for Sustainable Office Operations”
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) successfully organized a seminar titled “Professional Ethics and Compliance for Sustainable Office Operations” on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the VC Seminar Room, AUST. The seminar was attended by Officers, Assistant Administrative Officers, Upper Division Assistants and Lower Division Assistants. The seminar was arranged as part of IQAC’s continuous initiatives to promote ethical practices, institutional compliance, and sustainable administrative culture within higher education institutions.

The program began with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, AUST. In his opening remarks, he highlighted the significance of professional ethics and compliance in ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in office operations.

Following the welcome speech, the Vice-Chancellor of AUST, Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, delivered the inaugural address. In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor stressed the importance of integrity, responsibility, and ethical leadership in professional life. He noted that sustainable office operations can only be achieved when ethical values and compliance mechanisms are effectively integrated into daily administrative practices. He further appreciated IQAC for organizing such a timely seminar that contributes to capacity building and awareness among administrative officials.

The keynote session of the seminar was conducted by Dr. Md. Mamunur Rashid, Faculty Member (Production Management), Bangladesh Institute of Management (BIM). In his comprehensive presentation, Dr. Rashid discussed the fundamental concepts of professional ethics, organizational compliance, and sustainable office management. He elaborated on ethical decision-making, adherence to institutional policies, regulatory frameworks, and best practices that ensure transparency and accountability in office operations. He also emphasized how ethical compliance supports sustainability by reducing operational risks, improving efficiency, and fostering a culture of trust and responsibility within organizations.
Dr. Rashid further illustrated his discussion with practical examples from public and private sector organizations, highlighting the role of compliance in maintaining organizational credibility and long-term sustainability. His session was highly informative and well-received by the participants.
An open discussion session followed the keynote presentation, where participants actively engaged in exchanging views, raising questions, and sharing experiences related to ethical challenges and compliance issues in office environments. The interactive discussion enriched the seminar by allowing participants to gain practical insights and clarify their understanding of ethical and compliance-related matters.

The seminar concluded with closing remarks by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, AUST. He thanked the keynote speaker, the Vice-Chancellor, and all participants for their valuable contributions and active participation.
