Discussion Session on “Higher Education and Research”
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) successfully organized a discussion session titled “Higher Education and Research” on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The program was held at the MPE Classrooms No. 8A04 and 8A05, Level 8, Block A, AUST, with the aim of enhancing students’ understanding of higher education opportunities and research pathways.

The session began with a welcome address by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed, Director, IQAC, AUST, who emphasized the significance of higher education and research in fostering academic excellence and professional development. He also encouraged students to actively engage in research-oriented learning.

The keynote presentation was delivered by Prof. Dr. Azharul Karim, Professor at the School of Mechanical, Medical & Process Engineering (MMPE), Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, and Director of the Advanced Drying and Sustainable Energy Research (ADSER). In his presentation, he shared valuable insights on higher education and research, highlighting global academic trends, research opportunities, and the importance of innovation and sustainability. An interactive question-and-answer session followed the presentation, allowing students to directly engage with the speaker and seek clarification on various academic and research-related issues. The discussion was highly informative and provided practical guidance to students for planning their future academic and research careers.

At the conclusion of the session, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Morshed expressed his sincere gratitude to Prof. Dr. Azharul Karim for his insightful presentation and valuable contribution. He also thanked the participants for their enthusiastic participation, which contributed to the overall success of the program.
