Discussion Session on “How to Submit E-Return”
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) successfully organized a very timely and informative discussion session titled “How to Submit E-Return.” The session was held on Thursday, October 28, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., through the Virtual Zoom Platform of AUST and was arranged with the primary objective of facilitating all faculty members, administrative officers and staffs from different offices in understanding and efficiently completing their income tax e-return submissions. The discussion aimed to guide participants step-by-step through the process and to provide a platform for clarifying any questions or uncertainties regarding tax filing through the National Board of Revenue’s online system.

The session was graciously moderated by Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain, Additional Director of IQAC and Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, AUST. Under his capable moderation, the program ran smoothly and encouraged active participation from attendees.
The key presentation was delivered by Mr. Md. Newazul Islam Shovon, Deputy Commissioner of Taxes at the National Board of Revenue (NBR), who shared his expert insights and practical knowledge on the subject. During his presentation, Mr. Shovon discussed the recent policy announcements issued by the NBR, explained the individual tax treatments applicable to salaried professionals, and elaborated on the guidelines for preparing a self-assessment report. Moreover, he provided a detailed, hands-on demonstration of the process of submitting e-returns online, making it much easier for faculty members to understand the practical steps involved.

The presentation was followed by an interactive discussion session, where participants had the opportunity to raise their queries and receive clarifications directly from the expert. The session proved to be highly beneficial and informative, equipping the faculty members with the necessary understanding and confidence to complete their e-return submissions accurately and on time.

At the end of the session, Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Md. Newazul Islam Shovon for his valuable time, insightful presentation, and contribution to the professional development of AUST faculty members. He also extended heartfelt thanks to all participants for their active engagement, which made the program a great success.
