Workshop on ” AI for Office Productivity and Management”
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organized a workshop on “AI for Office Productivity and Management”, exclusively designed for all Assistant Administrative Officers (AAO) and Upper Division Assistants (UDA) from various departments and offices. The program was held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 02:00 p.m. to 04:00 p.m. at the School of Business Computer Lab, Level-6, Block-C, AUST. Dr. Naznin Sultana Chaity, Additional Director, IQAC and Associate Professor, School of Business, was present at the program. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain, Additional Director, IQAC and Associate Professor, Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, AUST.
The session commenced with a warm welcome speech delivered by Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain where he highlighted the significance of Artificial Intelligence in enhancing office productivity and management. He also provided valuable insights on practical applications of AI in administrative tasks. Dr. Hossain gave a detailed presentation on a range of AI-based Office Management Tools, including ChatGPT, Canva AI, LaTeX Overleaf, Grammarly, Gemini, DeepSeek, Google Translate and Copilot. He particularly emphasized the effective use of Canva AI, Copilot and LaTeX Overleaf for professional office tasks.
During the hands-on session, he demonstrated how AI can be used to:
- Draft, edit, and polish professional documents (reports, letters, notes, and communication tasks)
- Translate office circulars from English to Bangla
- Rewrite rough drafts into polite and professional emails
- Prepare statistical data, budgets, and sample office documents
- Manage documents and automate repetitive tasks
- Record and structure meeting notes for official minutes
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Fakir Sharif Hossain, appreciating the active participation of the attendees and encouraging them to integrate AI tools into their daily office operations for enhanced efficiency.
